Hana Sramek

A writer once said:”one cannot live without being indebted to others.”My work, therefore, must be viewed as a culmination of a multitude of influences:european childhood with architecture and art surrounding me, observing others with traditional skills, formal teaching in Canada, where I was encouraged to freely experiment.

Drawing on all that was given to me, I have developed my own style and personal vision. I delight in the texture of threads and fabrics, use colour to catch the eye, and hope the designs will resonate with the viewer. My techniques vary from stitching to painting, to burning fabricsĀ  – tradition meeting innovation.
