My favourite place to be is outdoors, exploring nature and the environment in which I find myself.  I am inspired by the everyday beauty that surrounds us.  My second favourite place is in my home studio. Through exploration with a wide variety of media, I incorporate photography, printmaking, natural dye making, fabric dying, felting, paper making, upcycling, embroidery, hand sewing, and machine stitching, using any and all in combination to interpret the beauty I’ve seen.   

Early post-secondary studies in creative arts developed my core skills in project design, development and execution.  Pattern making, colour analysis, illustration and advanced sewing skills were all added to my bag of tricks.  Later studies in biology and ecology deepened my curiosity and understanding of the natural world. 

Since retiring from an administrative career, I appreciate having the time and freedom to devote my energies to creating.
