Textiles are the medium of choice for the art work of Linda Coulter. Since she was a young girl she has been intrigued by the weave, colour and tactile nature of fabric. Over the past number of years she has been compelled to experiment by adding her own marks with stitch, paints and dyes creating unique fabrics for each individual art piece.

Most works are abstract celebrations of colour using hand stitches and a raw edge method that maintains the soft hand and drape of traditional wall hangings.  The process provides a sanctuary from life’s demands and is a meditative practice that she treasures.
